As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our company, you will be instrumental in maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy and small construction equipment. This role demands a high level of technical expertise in mechanics, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Your work will directly impact the operational capabilities of our construction projects by ensuring all machinery operates at optimal levels.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
    • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on heavy machinery and small equipment, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
    • Diagnose mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and detailed inspections.
    • Replace or repair faulty parts, including hydraulic systems, engines, and electrical units.
  2. Operational Readiness:
    • Prepare and ensure equipment is available and in safe working condition for scheduled construction activities.
    • Perform emergency repairs on site to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  3. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies during maintenance and repair activities.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and improve efficiency.
  4. Record Keeping and Inventory Management:
    • Document all maintenance and repair activities in detail, maintaining accurate records for each piece of equipment.
    • Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies; reorder as necessary to maintain stock levels.
  5. Technical Support and Guidance:
    • Provide technical advice to project teams regarding equipment capabilities and limitations.
    • Train junior mechanics and support staff in equipment maintenance and safety protocols.

Other Responsibilities

Perform additional tasks as required to support the operations department and the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in heavy machinery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Driver License 1 and 2 is preferred.
  • Technical diploma or equivalent in mechanical, heavy equipment maintenance, or related field is preferred.
  • Certification as Equipment Mechanic is preferred.
