Maintenance & Rescue Foreman

Leads preventive maintenance (PM), workshop operations, and breakdown rescues for the fleet and heavy equipment. Supervises mechanics, electricians, and maintenance helpers; coordinates with Warehouse, Transportation, and Site Engineers to minimize downtime and ensure safe, high-quality repairs.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Preventive Maintenance & Reliability
    • Plan and execute PM to ≥95% on-time compliance; align schedules with operations to reduce downtime.
    • Track hours, due PMs, and utilization; propose lube routes and operator pre-start check routines.
    • Capture failures, perform basic Root Cause Analysis, and implement corrective actions to reduce repeats.
  2. Workshop & Team Supervision
    • Lead mechanics, electrician(s), and helpers; assign tasks, coach workmanship, and enforce QC.
    • Control tools, equipment, and test instruments; ensure calibration and proper use.
    • Maintain a tidy, safe workshop and yard using 5S and housekeeping standards.
  3. Breakdown Rescue & Recovery
    • Lead field rescues (towing/recovery); maintain rescue kit readiness and on-call rotation.
    • Coordinate safe lifting/rigging, road movement, and site access with Transportation and Site teams.
    • Restore equipment to service within target Mean Time To Repair; escalate resource needs promptly.
  4. Documentation, Compliance & Reporting
    • Approve/close Job Orders; verify test runs; ensure all checklists and forms are complete and filed.
    • Use Odoo/CMMS to log work, parts, and labor; submit daily and weekly maintenance reports.
    • Comply with HSE, LOTO, environmental and highway movement requirements.
  5. Coordination & Communication
    • Liaise with Warehouse for spares/consumables; keep min/max levels for critical parts.
    • Work with Transportation Coordinator for dispatch and movement permits when required.
    • Coordinate downtime windows and post-repair validations with Site Engineers/Foremen.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist in annual budget build for parts, tools, tires, and contractor services.
  • Participate in supplier and contractor evaluations for maintenance services.
  • Support commissioning/decommissioning, modifications, and compliance audits.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support the warehouse and Operations and the organization.

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years in heavy equipment maintenance (construction/mining/fleet), including field service.
  • Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting with basic electrical skills (charging/lighting/sensors).
  • Strong supervision skills; able to coach technicians on site and enforce safety/QC.
  • Familiar with CMMS, job packs, checklists, and parts planning experience is a plus.
  • Certifications preferred: LOTO, Basic Rigging/Signalman; valid driver’s license.
  • NC II–III (Automotive Servicing/Electrical Installation & Maintenance) or equivalent; Bachelor’s in ME/EE is a plus.
