We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Office Engineer to join our engineering team. As an Office Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning and execution of construction projects, overseeing technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. This position requires strong organizational skills, a methodical approach to project management, and a thorough understanding of engineering principles to ensure the successful delivery of our engineering projects.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Technical Planning and Pre-construction:
    • Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to advise on-site conditions, construction feasibility, and material alternatives.
    • Advise the design team on technical decisions, design options, and their cost implications.
    • Estimate, negotiate, and manage project costs.
    • Prepare pre-construction documents including Program of Works (POW), S-Curve, Pert-CPM, Manpower Schedule, Equipment Utilization, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), Internal Program Of Works (IPOW), Statement of Work (SOW).
    • Document and organize total materials needed, detailing all codes and specifications for order processing.
    • Solicit and review proposals from subcontractors and labor groups, assisting with contract negotiations.
    • Schedule deliverables and estimate costs to ensure project alignment with budgetary and timeline goals.
    • Select tools, materials, and equipment and monitor inventory.
  2. Construction Phase:
    • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to ensure compliance with building and safety regulations.
    • Coordinate and direct site supervisors, construction workers, and subcontractors.
    • Ensure contractual conditions of performance are met.
    • Review work progress daily and prepare internal and external reports on job status.
    • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
    • Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks; document any non-compliant work.
    • Ensure the use of proper construction standards and techniques.
    • Attend various construction meetings, make regular site visits, and manage design/construction documentation to ensure schedule and budget compliance.
    • Update SOW and maintain construction documents, monitoring contract obligations.
    • Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions.
  3. Post Construction:
    • Close out the project by analyzing project objectives against actual outcomes, particularly in terms of budget and schedule.
    • Compile a report to evaluate project performance and provide insights for future projects.
    • Facilitate hand-over, including documentation of as-built plans, manuals, and post-maintenance service records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Professional license PRC in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with a focus on horizontal construction or structural engineering.
  • Proficient in project scheduling, estimates, billings, and construction project management standards.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
