The Warehouse Supervisor leads all warehouse activities, guaranteeing efficient material flow, fleet readiness, safety compliance, and accurate reporting. The role directly supervises the Transport Coordinator, Senior Warehouseman, Fabrication Foreman, and general warehouse staff, ensuring that warehouse, transport, and in-house fabrication functions operate seamlessly to support ongoing construction projects.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Team Leadership & Workforce Planning
    • Direct, coach, and evaluate transport, warehouse, and fabrication personnel.
    • Allocate manpower and resources to balance daily operational demands.
    • Conduct performance reviews; coordinate training and up-skilling.
  2. Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control
    • Implement and enforce SOPs for receiving, storing, issuing, and returning materials, tools, and consumables.
    • Oversee cycle counts and full physical inventories; investigate and resolve variances.
    • Optimize storage layout for space utilization and quick retrieval.
  3. Fleet & Equipment Coordination
    • Review and approve transport schedules and preventive-maintenance plans prepared by the Transport Coordinator.
    • Coordinate prompt response to equipment breakdowns or unplanned outages.
    • Authorize outsourcing of major repairs and track costs, timelines, and quality.
  4. Fabrication Oversight
    • Monitor fabrication work orders for quality, schedule adherence, and cost control.
    • Ensure safety and housekeeping standards are enforced in all fabrication activities.
  5. Safety, Compliance & House-keeping
    • Enforce HSE policies across warehouse, yard, transport, and fabrication areas.
    • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
    • Ensure proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
  6. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
    • Submit weekly and monthly reports on inventory, fleet utilization, downtime, fabrication output, and costs.
    • Identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend process or layout improvements.
    • Coordinate with Purchasing, Project Management, and Finance to align stock, budget, and schedule requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ progressive warehouse/logistics experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency with inventory-control systems (WMS) and basic fleet-maintenance concepts.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
